Painting Light in the Landscape art class
It’s that time of year when dark evenings roll in and we find ourselves hibernating in our own homes.
This course is designed to gather creative people together, to celebrate light, explore ideas of value and light in painting landscapes with oils or acrylics, and learn new ideas which we can apply to our individual styles.
The class
This course is accompanied by discussion, investigative PowerPoint presentation and exploration of other artists works (familiar and contemporary), their representation of landscape, use of colour, light and value in painting, and their different approaches to oil paint application.
Participants are also welcome to forward examples of their own work for positive group critique. This is a safe and intimate space for creative sharing and discussion.
Specifics
10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. 6 participants. Tea and coffee provided. Light lunch provided.
Please bring your own materials. We can supply materials at a reasonable price, but you would need to let us know in advance.
Resident artist Sinéad Smyth will lead the course.
Accommodation
We have reduced rate accommodation for up to four people at our Artists’ Retreat during our art course weekends. It’s reduced because the public areas are used by other course participants during the day. If it’s already booked, we can recommend other local places to stay.
You can view our rooms here: artstaysdonegal.com.
Contact us if you would like to stay overnight during a class as accommodation booking is not available on the website for these weekends.
