Bright Bay (fine art print)

Some days the light along the Donegal coast changes a familiar place completely. A bay you know well can suddenly flare into colour as sunlight breaks through fast-moving cloud.

Bright Bay came from one of those moments. Patches of light moved across the water, turning it from deep blue to turquoise and green, then back again as the clouds passed. I wanted the painting to keep that sense of movement rather than pin the scene down.

Living near the sea makes you notice small changes in weather almost without thinking: wind direction, cloud cover, the colour of the water, the way a shower moves across the horizon.

For me, this one carries the freshness of standing at the shoreline with a breeze on your face and plenty of space in front of you.
