Light across the Foyle, memories of legends told

I am forever watching clouds.  In fact, it’s probably one of my favourite pastimes.  I wonder if some of our Celtic lore is associated with the movement of clouds as it was with the movements and behaviours of stars and comets.  There is a definite figure protecting the Foyle here with beautiful rays of morning light setting a lemon glow to the sky.

There are so many stories and legends connected to the Foyle. From the Celtic Sea God Manannán Mac Lir to St. Columba.  This lough lies in between two countries, neither truly of one nor the other – a fitting state for a place whose name comes from the depths of ancient myth.
